World Humanist Day
June 21 · Level 5 · #1216 of 2238

World Humanist Day brings together people who ground ethical choices in reason, compassion and responsibility to others. It offers space to discuss human rights, freedom of thought and approaches to morality that do not depend on religious rules.
How it is celebrated: humanist groups arrange public discussions, talks, social gatherings and picnics. Science, community life and practical ways to help others often feature in the conversation.
The day falls around the June solstice, pairing the Northern Hemisphere’s longest days with the Southern Hemisphere’s shortest.
