Go Skateboarding Day

June 21 · Level 9 · #296 of 2238

Go Skateboarding Day is an invitation to grab a board and meet other riders. It brings skate communities together, gives newcomers a way in and draws attention to the need for accessible places to skate.

How it is celebrated: skateparks host group sessions, competitions and demonstrations. Experienced riders share tips, while local communities and skate shops arrange meetups and trick contests.

Its English name is an instruction you can act on immediately: go skateboarding. The celebration began in 2004, long before skateboarding made its Olympic debut at the Tokyo Games.
