Medical Workers’ Day
June 21 · Level 6 · #1081 of 2238

Medical Workers’ Day recognises the people whose work keeps patients cared for, from doctors and nurses to paramedics and laboratory staff. Observed in several post-Soviet countries, it is a shared thank-you to the many professions that make healthcare possible.
How it is celebrated: healthcare institutions hold staff gatherings and award ceremonies. Patients send messages of appreciation, while colleagues who are off duty may celebrate together or with family.
The date varies between countries: some use a fixed calendar date, while others designate a Sunday. An overseas colleague may celebrate on a different day.
