World Scout Scarf Day
August 1 · Level 5 · #1301 of 2238

Scouts around the world put on their neckerchiefs today to show they belong to one big movement. It is a nice reminder that every troop and every country has its own colours and traditions.
How it is celebrated: scouts wear their scarves to meetings, hikes and camps, pose for big group photos and share them with friends in other countries. Former scouts dig out their old neckerchiefs and swap camp stories.
Robert Baden-Powell held the first experimental scout camp on Brownsea Island in England in August 1907, which makes August a special month for scouts.
