Cash-in-Transit Workers' Day in Russia
August 1 · Level 7 · #844 of 2238

Russia's Cash-in-Transit Workers' Day recognises the specialists who collect and transport cash and other valuables. Their work combines carefully planned routes, responsibility for valuable cargo and strict security procedures.
How it is celebrated: employers congratulate teams, present awards and thank experienced staff. Gatherings may also honour former employees and remember colleagues who died on duty.
The date recalls the establishment of a collection service at the Soviet State Bank in 1939. That familiar armoured vehicle outside a bank is one visible part of a much larger transport and accounting operation.
