World Lung Cancer Day
August 1 · Level 9 · #375 of 2238

World Lung Cancer Day raises awareness and supports people living with the disease. It brings prevention, earlier detection, access to treatment and compassionate care into the same conversation, without blaming patients for their diagnosis.
How it is celebrated: medical organisations and patient groups hold awareness events, share personal experiences and explain the importance of research and accessible care. Families and carers are part of that conversation too.
People who have never smoked can also develop lung cancer. Treating it solely as a smoker's disease can leave those patients overlooked and misunderstood.
