Prosecution Service Workers’ Day in Azerbaijan
October 1 · Level 3 · #1617 of 2238
This professional observance honours Azerbaijan’s prosecution service and its work in upholding the law. It highlights the responsibility involved in investigating offences, protecting citizens’ rights and presenting prosecutions in court.
How it is celebrated: formal gatherings recognise staff achievements and honour service veterans. Professional meetings provide an occasion to revisit the institution’s history and discuss the responsibilities of its employees.
The service’s history reaches back to the Azerbaijan Democratic Republic in the early twentieth century. Its roots therefore predate Soviet rule.
