International Children's Television and Radio Day
March 1 · Level 3 · #1711 of 2238

This day is a reminder that children deserve kind, interesting and safe programmes. It is marked by the people who make shows for young viewers and listeners.
How it is celebrated: channels and radio stations air special programmes, schoolchildren try out presenting and camera work on studio visits, and workshops teach kids how to tell fact from fiction in the media.
One of the world's best-known children's shows, Sesame Street, first aired in the United States in 1969. It was designed as an educational programme and was later adapted for dozens of countries.
