Anniversary of Russia's Organised Crime Units
November 15 · Level 9 · #354 of 2238

This professional anniversary remembers the creation of specialist organised crime units and the people who served in them. It recognises work aimed at uncovering criminal groups and identifying the connections between their members and activities.
How it is celebrated: serving personnel and veterans meet former colleagues, revisit their units' history and remember those who died in service. Departmental gatherings acknowledge contributions to demanding investigations.
The anniversary's historical starting point is 1988. The specialist unit behind the commemorative date was established within the Soviet Interior Ministry, before the Soviet Union broke up.
