Zero Emissions Day
September 21 · Level 9 · #314 of 2238

Zero Emissions Day invites everyone to spend at least one day thinking about the greenhouse gases our habits produce, and to try living with fewer of them.
How it is celebrated: people swap cars for bikes and buses, switch off gadgets they do not need, plant trees, and hold classroom lessons and workplace chats about clean energy.
The 2015 Paris Agreement aims to keep global warming well below 2 °C and, ideally, within 1.5 °C. Reaching that means cutting emissions until what we release is balanced by what is removed from the air.
