World Breast Pumping Day
January 27 · Level 2 · #1982 of 2238

A day to recognise parents who pump breast milk, whether because of work, time apart from their baby, or health needs. It is real work and deserves to be talked about openly.
How it is celebrated: parents share their stories in online communities, employers remind staff about lactation rooms and pumping breaks, and friends and family offer to take over a few chores.
The World Health Organization recommends exclusive breastfeeding for the first six months of a baby's life. Pumped milk helps parents keep that going even when they cannot be right next to their child.
