Re-Gifting Day

Re-Gifting Day reminds us that a good present shouldn't gather dust in a cupboard. If a gift didn't suit you, it may be exactly right for someone else.

How it is celebrated: before the holidays people sort through closets, dig out unopened presents and match them with new owners. The golden rules are to never hand a gift back to the person who gave it, and to check the box for an old card.

The word "regifter" got a big boost from the sitcom Seinfeld, in its 1996 episode "The Label Maker".
