Belarusian Cinema Day
December 17 · Level 2 · #2006 of 2238

Belarusian Cinema Day belongs to directors, actors, cinematographers and everyone who makes films in Belarus. It is a reminder that the country has its own screen history and its own heroes.
How it is celebrated: there are special screenings and retrospectives, meetings with audiences and creative evenings, and cinemas and clubs bring back the classics.
The Belarusfilm studio in Minsk traces its roots to 1924, and the first Belarusian feature film, Lesnaya Byl, reached the screen in 1926.
