Play Tennis Day

February 23 · Level 6 · #934 of 2238

An informal day for anyone who loves a racket and a fuzzy yellow ball. The message is simple: you can pick up tennis at any age and at any level.

How it is celebrated: friends and coworkers book a court for a casual match, beginners try a first lesson with a coach, and those stuck indoors rewatch classic tournament finals.

Wimbledon, played on grass in London, is the oldest tennis tournament in the world. It was first held in 1877.
