Curling Is Cool Day
February 23 · Level 3 · #1753 of 2238
A day to prove that curling is more than chess on ice: it is a tense, friendly team game worth trying at least once.
How it is celebrated: clubs hold open ice sessions, newcomers grab a broom for the first time and learn to slide, and fans watch matches while arguing about the perfect line for the stone.
Curling comes from Scotland. A stone dated 1511 was found at Dunblane, and it is among the oldest known curling stones.
