Housing and Utilities Workers' Day
March 15 · Level 3 · #1587 of 2238
This is a professional holiday for the people who keep homes warm, lit and supplied with water, and who fix everyday troubles fast. Plumbers, electricians, repair technicians, laundry staff and tailors all get their moment of thanks.
How it is celebrated: workplaces hand out certificates and congratulations, and housing companies and local administrations hold small ceremonies. Residents often leave warm notes of thanks for the technicians who look after their buildings.
In Russia the date moves: the holiday falls on the third Sunday of March, so the day of the month changes from year to year.
