Anzac Day
April 25 · Level 6 · #963 of 2238

Anzac Day falls on 25 April and honours the Australian and New Zealand Army Corps and everyone who has served their country. It began with the Gallipoli landings of 1915.
How it is celebrated: the day opens with dawn services where the Last Post is played, wreaths are laid, and people wear sprigs of rosemary or poppies. Veterans march through towns later in the day, and many families bake Anzac biscuits at home.
The word "Anzac" is protected by law in Australia, so it cannot be used commercially without special permission.
