Ukrainian Cinema Day
September 12 · Level 5 · #1316 of 2238
Ukrainian Cinema Day celebrates the country's films and the people who make them. It is an opportunity to discover new work, revisit classics and appreciate the many contributors whose names appear in the closing credits.
How it is celebrated: screenings, retrospectives and conversations with directors and actors bring audiences closer to filmmaking. Museums and cultural venues explore cinema history and the preservation of older films.
Established officially in 1996, the holiday falls on the second Saturday of September, so its calendar date changes each year.
