International Crochet Day

International Crochet Day is an informal celebration of yarn, handmade creations and the people who enjoy making them. Experienced crocheters and beginners still working on their first chain are equally welcome.

How it is celebrated: craft communities run workshops, exchange patterns and share photographs of finished pieces. Makers get together to crochet, create gifts and contribute items to charity projects.

A hook can produce much more than flat fabric. It also creates three-dimensional forms used in amigurumi, the Japanese craft of making small yarn toys that has found enthusiasts worldwide.
