Preliminary Investigation Officers' Day in Belarus
September 12 · Level 6 · #1068 of 2238
This professional observance in Belarus honours preliminary investigation officers. It recognises the people who establish the circumstances of crimes, gather evidence and prepare cases for the next stages of the justice process.
How it is celebrated: investigative departments hold formal gatherings, present awards and congratulate veterans. Staff receive commendations for their service and professional achievements.
An investigator's work is distinct from a trial: investigating a case does not mean deciding guilt. That decision belongs to the court, an important distinction behind the profession.
