Preschool Workers' Day in Russia
September 27 · Level 5 · #1167 of 2238

This Russian holiday honours the people who help young children discover life beyond home. Preschool teachers and their colleagues receive thanks for creating spaces where children can play, make friends and learn to do things for themselves.
How it is celebrated: children make cards and drawings or prepare short performances, while parents share their appreciation. Preschools hold staff celebrations, and employees may receive certificates recognising their work.
The September date recalls a kindergarten that opened in Saint Petersburg in 1863, making it one of Russia’s earliest.
