Machine Builders' Day
September 27 · Level 6 · #1013 of 2238
Machine Builders’ Day recognises the designers, engineers, technicians and factory workers who create machinery and equipment. Their work keeps transport and production moving, often quietly in the background until a machine stops doing its job.
How it is celebrated: factories congratulate their teams, present employee awards and honour retired colleagues. Workplace gatherings and concerts provide a chance to look back at a plant’s history and the people behind its achievements.
The industry also produces machine tools used to manufacture parts for other machines. Some machine builders quite literally make the tools of their own trade.
