September 13 · Level 8 · #575 of 2238
Ukraine's Oil, Gas and Refining Industry Workers' Day honours the people who extract, transport and process these resources. It brings together many occupations involved in supplying energy, fuel and raw materials for industry.
How it is celebrated: employers congratulate their teams, recognise employees' achievements and thank industry veterans. Professional gatherings offer a chance to share experience and discuss workplace safety and the training of new specialists.
A refinery produces much more than fuel for vehicles. Petroleum also supplies road bitumen, lubricants and feedstocks used to manufacture a wide range of chemical products.
