Grandparents' Day in Canada
September 13 · Level 1 · #2122 of 2238

Grandparents' Day in Canada celebrates the older people who help hold family stories and traditions together. It is a chance to thank them for their care and give an ordinary visit or conversation a little more time.
How it is celebrated: families share meals, make phone calls and exchange handmade cards. Schools, libraries and community centres may bring generations together to tell stories or take part in activities.
The celebration moves around the calendar. It falls on the first Sunday after Labour Day, rather than on a fixed date in September.
