Mexico's Constitution Day
February 2 · Level 5 · #1190 of 2238

Mexico's Constitution Day honours the constitution promulgated on 5 February 1917 after the Mexican Revolution. It established the country's political framework and gave land ownership and workers' rights a prominent place in national law.
How it is celebrated: official ceremonies mark the anniversary, while schools explore its history. The holiday weekend associated with the first Monday in February also gives families time for visits and trips.
This was one of the world's first constitutions to enshrine social rights. Its provisions included an eight-hour working day.
