Azerbaijan Youth Day recognises young people's contributions to science, culture, sport and community life. It celebrates achievements while making room for those taking their first steps towards a project, career or public role.
How it is celebrated: youth organisations hold forums, meetings, concerts and sporting events. Awards recognise accomplishments, and participants exchange ideas and meet potential collaborators.
The date recalls Azerbaijan's first Youth Forum, held on 2 February 1996. The national observance was established the following year, in 1997.
