Non-Destructive Testing Specialists' Day in Russia
February 2 · Level 1 · #2217 of 2238
This professional observance in Russia recognises the specialists who search for hidden flaws in materials and structures. Their inspections help catch problems in railway tracks, aircraft parts and welds before those problems become dangerous, while leaving the inspected object intact.
How it is celebrated: colleagues exchange greetings and employers recognise staff contributions. Specialists share inspection experience and discuss equipment and challenging cases.
Looking inside metal does not always require cutting it open. Ultrasonic testing detects flaws through reflected sound waves, using a principle also found in medical ultrasound.
