International Human Solidarity Day
December 20 · Level 7 · #876 of 2238

This day reminds us that the world runs on mutual help and that shared problems are easier to solve together. It invites people and countries to value unity in diversity.
How it is celebrated: schools, charities and volunteers organise fundraisers, open lessons and talks about fighting poverty, and plenty of people simply find a reason to help a neighbour or a colleague.
The UN General Assembly proclaimed the day in 2005. It rests on the idea that solidarity is one of the basic values of international relations in the twenty-first century.
