Honesty Day

Honesty Day invites everyone to tell the truth and be open, at home, at work and in public life. It is a light-hearted but quietly serious nudge to notice how often we polish the facts.

How it is celebrated: people try to go a whole day without a fib, own up to small slip-ups, and kindly say things to friends and colleagues that they have long meant to say.

The day was created by the American author M. Hirsh Goldberg, who wrote The Book of Lies. He hoped that, for one day a year, ordinary people and politicians alike would try not to bend the truth.
