Children's Day in Mexico
April 30 · Level 8 · #479 of 2238

Mexico's Children's Day puts young people at the centre of the celebration, with attention to their happiness, wellbeing and rights. Behind the treats is a serious purpose: every child deserves care, education and a safe place to grow.
How it is celebrated: schools organise games, music and parties, and families arrange small surprises. Museums and parks offer children's activities. Some celebrations include a piñata, with sweets tumbling out when it finally breaks.
Mexico celebrates its children's day in April, on a date of its own. The United Nations' World Children's Day falls in November instead.
