Handicrafts Day
November 16 · Level 1 · #2177 of 2238

Handicrafts Day is an informal invitation to pick up some yarn, thread a needle or return to an unfinished project. It celebrates making things by hand and sharing skills across families, friendships and creative communities.
How it is celebrated: makers exchange photos of their work, run workshops and gather to sew, knit or learn a new technique together. Finishing a long-delayed handmade gift fits the occasion nicely, too.
Knitting and weaving build fabric in fundamentally different ways: knitting links loops together, while weaving interlaces sets of threads.
