World Twin Cities Day
April 26 · Level 6 · #943 of 2238

World Twin Cities Day celebrates friendships between towns and cities across national borders. These partnerships turn international cooperation into something personal: a school exchange, a shared exhibition or a chance to learn how another community solves everyday problems.
How it is celebrated: partner cities host cultural events, exhibitions and visiting delegations. Schools, arts groups and community organisations also take part in exchanges and joint projects.
Coventry and Stalingrad became twin cities in 1944, while the Second World War was still being fought. Their connection brought together two cities devastated by the conflict.
