Border Guard Day in Armenia
April 26 · Level 9 · #338 of 2238

Armenia's Border Guard Day honours the people who protect the country's borders. It recognises serving personnel and veterans, while also remembering those who died in the line of duty and the families who share the demands of service.
How it is celebrated: units hold formal gatherings and award ceremonies, and flowers are laid at memorials. Colleagues and families offer congratulations and remember earlier generations of border guards.
Armenia is landlocked and much of its territory is mountainous. Its border service therefore operates in a landscape where mountain terrain is an important part of the job.
