Alien Day

April 26 · Level 10 · #141 of 2238

Alien Day is a fan holiday for the sci-fi horror saga about the xenomorph. The date points to LV-426, the moon at the heart of the films Alien and Aliens.

How it is celebrated: fans hold movie marathons, dress up as crew members and monsters, swap favourite scenes online, and gather for themed parties and game nights set in the Alien universe.

In the American style the date is written 4/26, which neatly spells out the name of the moon. The 1979 film's tagline, "In space no one can hear you scream", became one of the best-known in cinema.
