World Bakuvians Day is an informal celebration for people who call Baku home, wherever they live now. It brings together memories of seaside walks, neighbourhood courtyards and the people who made the city feel familiar.
How it is celebrated: friends and fellow Bakuvians get together, share old photographs, swap stories and reconnect through music and favourite foods. Keeping those personal ties alive is at the heart of the occasion.
Baku’s walled old city, including the Maiden Tower and the Palace of the Shirvanshahs, is a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
