Video Game Day
July 8 · Level 9 · #415 of 2238
An unofficial celebration for everyone who loves games, from arcade cabinets to big console and PC adventures. It is a day when playing is something to enjoy, not to apologise for.
How it is celebrated: people play their favourite games, revisit old classics, and invite friends to tournaments or co-op runs. Teams hold friendly contests, and parents pick up a controller next to their kids.
One of the earliest screen games, Tennis for Two, was built in 1958 at Brookhaven National Laboratory in the United States and ran on an oscilloscope.
