Russian Customs Service Veterans Day
May 29 · Level 3 · #1610 of 2238
Russian Customs Service Veterans Day honours former customs employees and the knowledge they pass on. It celebrates professional connections built through work inspecting goods, tackling smuggling and protecting the country's economic interests.
How it is celebrated: veterans reunite with colleagues, attend formal gatherings and share their experiences with newer recruits. Customs museums and veterans' organisations help preserve stories from the service's past.
Customs work does not happen only at the border. Inland customs posts also handle goods, so an officer's workplace may be a long way from an international crossing.
