Winter Troyan

Troyan is a mysterious figure of old Slavic lore. He appears in the Tale of Igor's Campaign, which speaks of the "ages of Troyan" and "Troyan's path". Modern Slavic calendars set aside a winter day in his name.
How it is celebrated: people who revive Slavic traditions usually meet in a small circle, retell old legends, light a bonfire and share bread and hot drinks.
Scholars still argue about who Troyan was: a pagan deity, a prince, or the Roman emperor Trajan. There is no single answer.
