Transport Police Day in Russia
February 18 · Level 8 · #457 of 2238
Transport Police Day honours the officers who keep order on railways, at airports and in sea and river ports. They look after the safety of passengers and cargo on the road.
How it is celebrated: units hold formal meetings, the best officers receive awards and certificates, and veterans of the service are invited to meet younger colleagues.
Transport policing in Russia is not done by ordinary district stations. It is handled by so-called line departments, police bodies assigned to stations, airports, ports and stretches of railway.
