Teachers' Day in Belarus
October 4 · Level 2 · #1887 of 2238
Teachers' Day in Belarus honours educators and the influence they have on their students' lives. It is a chance to thank someone for a patient explanation, encouragement or a lesson that stayed useful long after school ended.
How it is celebrated: students prepare performances, greeting cards and flowers. Schools hold celebratory gatherings, teachers receive awards and messages of appreciation, and former pupils remember the people who taught them.
The holiday always falls on the first Sunday in October, rather than a fixed date. Many school celebrations therefore take place beforehand, while teachers and pupils are together during the school week.
