Education Workers' Day in Ukraine
October 4 · Level 2 · #1888 of 2238
Ukraine's Education Workers' Day thanks the people who help others learn, from preschool educators to schoolteachers and university lecturers. It also recognises the wider staff whose work keeps educational institutions running, often well beyond classroom hours.
How it is celebrated: students prepare cards, performances and messages of thanks, sometimes bringing flowers. Schools and other institutions honour colleagues and retired educators with gatherings, certificates and awards.
The celebration falls on the first Sunday in October, so its date moves each year. It occasionally shares a date with World Teachers' Day on 5 October, but the two observances follow different calendars.
