Standardisation and Metrology Workers' Day in Ukraine
October 10 · Level 1 · #2021 of 2238
Ukraine honours the specialists who make measurements reliable and product requirements clear enough to check. Their work supports safety and quality everywhere from shop scales to industrial machinery, often without attracting much attention.
How it is celebrated: professional teams recognise colleagues and hold seminars and technical meetings. Discussions cover measurement accuracy, instrument checks and the use of national and international standards.
Metrology is the science of measurement, not the study of weather. Despite the easily confused names, a metrologist's concern is making a kilogram consistent for a shopkeeper, a customer and a laboratory.
