Random Acts of Kindness Day
February 17 · Level 6 · #1086 of 2238

Random Acts of Kindness Day invites you to do something nice with no plan and no reason: hold a door, buy someone a coffee, send a warm message. The one rule is to expect nothing in return.
How it is celebrated: people pay for a stranger's coffee, leave kind notes for colleagues, help neighbours carry their shopping and share their good deeds online.
The phrase "random acts of kindness" is credited to the American writer Anne Herbert, who wrote it down in the early 1980s. It later grew into the slogan of a whole movement.
