Vocational Education Day in Russia
October 2 · Level 4 · #1527 of 2238
Russia's Vocational Education Day celebrates students and staff at colleges and technical schools. It highlights education that connects classroom learning with practical skills, from working with machinery to preparing food or carrying out laboratory tasks.
How it is celebrated: colleges host open days, hands-on workshops and skills competitions. Students demonstrate projects, while teachers and employers introduce younger visitors to possible careers.
The date recalls the creation of the Soviet state labour reserves system in 1940 to train workers. The modern holiday itself was officially established in 2022.
