Remembrance Day for Journalists Killed in the Line of Duty
December 15 · Level 2 · #1964 of 2238

This day remembers journalists who never came back from a reporting trip or an editorial assignment. It is a moment to say their names aloud and to insist that nobody should be killed for telling the truth.
How it is celebrated: colleagues observe a minute of silence, lay flowers at memorials, publish special features and screen films about fallen reporters.
The United Nations has its own related date: the International Day to End Impunity for Crimes against Journalists falls on 2 November.
