Pension Fund of Russia Foundation Day recalls the moment in 1990 when the country got a separate body in charge of pensions. The fund was set up on 22 December 1990, and for decades afterwards it paid pensions to millions of people.
How it is celebrated: staff receive congratulations, and festive meetings honour the best employees and thank veterans of the system. Many branches also use the occasion to explain online services to the public.
On 1 January 2023 the Pension Fund was merged with the Social Insurance Fund, creating a single Social Fund of Russia.
