Russian Police Patrol Service Day
September 2 · Level 9 · #349 of 2238
Russian Police Patrol Service Day recognises officers who maintain order in streets and public spaces. Their daily duties include walking or driving patrol routes, helping members of the public and responding to reports of offences.
How it is celebrated: units hold ceremonial gatherings, present awards to officers and honour service veterans. For those assigned to a shift, the occasion remains a working day, with patrols continuing along their usual routes.
The service traces its anniversary to a 1923 instruction for militsiya officers on fixed posts. A practical guide to everyday duties became the basis of its commemorative date.
