Ukraine's Notary Day recognises professionals who help make documents and transactions legally reliable. Their work reaches far beyond a stamp: it includes wills, inheritance matters, powers of attorney and agreements with lasting consequences for families.
How it is celebrated: colleagues exchange congratulations, attend professional gatherings and discuss questions arising in their practice. Legal advice sessions and public information events may also be arranged around the occasion.
Ukraine has both state and private notaries. A document certified by a private notary does not carry less legal weight simply because the notary works privately.
