Land Reclamation Workers' Day in Russia
June 7 · Level 4 · #1353 of 2238
Russia's Land Reclamation Workers' Day honours the specialists who help farmland remain productive. Their work includes supplying water to dry fields, draining excess moisture and maintaining the systems that make both possible.
How it is celebrated: industry organisations congratulate staff and retired colleagues, present awards and highlight completed projects. Professional gatherings also provide space to exchange experience in maintaining infrastructure and improving land management.
Irrigation and drainage may seem like opposite jobs, yet both belong to the same field. The aim is to give land the water conditions it needs, rather than simply adding or removing water.
