Croatian Diplomacy Day
June 7 · Level 6 · #914 of 2238

Croatian Diplomacy Day honours the country's diplomatic service and the history of its international relationships. It recognises the people who negotiate, represent Croatia abroad and keep communication open between states.
How it is celebrated: official gatherings, speeches and events explore foreign policy and diplomatic work. Members of the diplomatic community reflect on historical milestones as well as the challenges facing the service today.
The occasion reaches back to the ninth century. A letter sent by Pope John VIII to Duke Branimir in 879 is remembered in Croatia as an early milestone in the international recognition of Croatian statehood.
